Bill Coleman to Headline an All-Star Team at CHAOS University Retreat This Fall
Boston, MA, - August 27, 2008 - "We are very pleased to have such a great speaker and business person talk at this year's event. With this line-up, I feel we have the Red Sox batting order of speakers with Bill Coleman as our home run hitter," said Jim Johnson, Chairman, The Standish Group. "This year's event is really special and after a decade and a half of studying IT project failure we are on the verge of a breakthrough."
"For many years I have been a big supporter of CHAOS University and the work Jim's team has been doing around the advancement of project success," said Bill Coleman, chairman and CEO of Cassatt. Coleman was also the founder and first CEO of BEA Systems. "I am looking forward to participating in this event and laying out my vision of cloud computing and what businesses can learn from the cycles of technology innovation."
"It is wonderful to be part of such a distinguished team," said Timothy Chou, Co-founder of Openwater Networks, lecturer at Stanford University and former President, Oracle OnDemand. "Technologies born in the Consumer Internet such as search, wikis, and social networks have changed our lives outside of work; it's time to take those technologies and change our world of work."
"This is a very aware team and making everyone aware of a common set of goals is paramount to project success," said Brian Carter, Vice President, Sapient. "My talk will be about what techniques Sapient uses to help organizations promote and focus on project awareness."
"The CHAOS University event is renowned for advancing project understanding," said Herb Strauss, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, Robbins-Gioia, LLC. "My contribution focuses on managing projects in uncertain times -- and how organizations can preserve value and keep projects viable, even if they face rapid restructuring."
"While I will be talking about some of our new research, the real stars of all CHAOS Universities are the workshops and their participants," said Johnson. "We have five very interesting workshops this year and some high powered delegates attending."
The theme for CHAOS University 2008 is "Creating a Healthy Project Management Ecosystem." The purpose of the event is to explore ways to identify the project commandments, take action to enhance and promote them, and raise the project success quotient. This 2008 event will be held in Boston, Massachusetts, at the Seaport Hotel World Trade Center on November 6th and 7th.
